How the MobileBazar Score Works
By MobileBazar Team ·
Every smartphone on MobileBazar has a MobileBazar Score from 0 to 10, plus four sub-scores for performance, camera, battery and display. The score is calculated automatically from each phone’s specifications, so every phone is judged by the same rules, whether it costs ৳8,000 or ৳2,00,000.
The four sub-scores
Performance (32% of the overall score). Based mostly on the phone’s chipset. We group processors into tiers, from entry-level chips like the Unisoc T606 and Helio G-series up to flagships like the Snapdragon 8 Elite, Dimensity 9000-series and Apple’s A-series. Extra RAM and a high refresh-rate screen add a little on top.
Camera (26%). Main sensor resolution, the number of rear cameras, optical image stabilisation (OIS), optical or periscope zoom lenses, and 4K or 8K video recording.
Battery (20%). Battery capacity in mAh, wired charging speed in watts, and wireless charging support.
Display (22%). Panel type (LTPO and AMOLED/OLED score higher than IPS LCD), refresh rate, sharpness (pixels per inch), peak brightness, and screen protection glass.
What the score is good for
- Quickly spotting which phone in a price range has the strongest hardware.
- Comparing phones from different brands on equal terms.
- Building our best phone lists and the “Trending” section on the home page.
What it can’t tell you
A spec sheet doesn’t capture everything. Software updates, camera processing, speaker quality, build quality and after-sales service all matter, and none of them show up in a spec sheet. Two phones with the same chipset can also perform differently because of cooling. Use the score as a starting point, then read the full specifications and compare your shortlist with our compare tool.
Feature phones (button phones) don’t get a score, because they are bought for very different reasons.
Does the score change?
Yes. When a phone’s specifications are updated, its score updates too. The best lists also refresh every day, so a phone may move down as newer phones arrive.
