Smartphone Buying Guide for Bangladesh (2026 Edition)

With thousands of models on the market, choosing a phone can feel impossible. This guide covers what matters most, in the order you should think about it.

1. Set your budget first

Decide how much you can spend, then stick to it. MobileBazar lists phones in every price range, from under ৳10,000 to above ৳1,00,000. Remember that the official price includes a brand warranty; read our guide on official vs unofficial phones before chasing the cheapest price.

2. Chipset: the most important spec

The processor (chipset) decides how fast the phone feels today and how well it will age. As a rough guide:

  • Basic use (calls, Facebook, YouTube): Unisoc T6xx or MediaTek Helio G8x/G9x are fine.
  • Smooth everyday use and casual gaming: Snapdragon 6-series, Dimensity 6000/7000-series or Helio G99 and above.
  • Serious gaming: Snapdragon 7+ / 8-series, Dimensity 8000/9000-series, or Apple A-series.

Our best gaming phones list ranks phones by chipset performance.

3. RAM and storage

For Android in 2026, 8GB RAM is comfortable for most people, and 6GB is the minimum for smooth multitasking. Choose at least 128GB storage. Go for 256GB if you shoot a lot of video, or if the phone has no memory card slot.

4. Battery and charging

A 5,000mAh+ battery will last most people a full day. Many new phones now ship with 6,000 to 7,000mAh batteries. Charging speed matters too: 33W or more will fill a large battery in about an hour. See the best battery phones.

5. Display

An AMOLED screen gives deeper blacks and better outdoor visibility than an IPS LCD. A 90Hz or 120Hz refresh rate makes scrolling feel much smoother. Both are now common even under ৳25,000.

6. Camera

Don’t judge a camera by megapixels alone. A 50MP main camera with OIS (optical image stabilisation) usually beats a 108MP camera without it, especially at night. Extra 2MP macro or depth cameras add little. Check the best camera phones list.

7. 5G and future-proofing

5G networks are expanding in Bangladesh. If you plan to keep your phone for three years or more, a 5G phone is a sensible choice. Browse all 5G phones.

Narrow it down

Use the phone finder to filter by budget, RAM, battery, display and 5G, then put your top two or three in the compare tool to see the differences side by side.
